What's My GPU?
This site is meant to help you find out what GPU you have, and what its stats are. It will also detect what your current monitor resolution, color depth, and FPS are.
GPU
A device for drawing images to the screen of a computer. Stands for "Graphics Processing Unit". Also referred to as a "Graphics Card" or "Video Card."
Resolution
The size of your current monitor in pixels.
Color Depth
The number of unique colors your monitor can display. 24 bits is the most common, which means 16,777,216 different colors (224)
FPS
Frames per second. How many times per second your monitor can redraw the screen. Most monitors are 60fps, while gaming monitors can be 120, 144, 240, 360, or more. More frames per second means smoother motion and reduced input latency. (That's good!)
Vendor
The company that made your GPU.
Die size
The physical size of the GPU's main chip, in square millimeters. Think postage stamp sized.
YEAR
The year this GPU was released in.
Process
An industry term for the size of the individual "features" on a computer chip. Basically: the size of the wires. Measured in nanometers, or billionths of a meter. Smaller is better, and means more transistors can fit on a chip, and run more efficiently.
GFLOPS
Shorthand for gigaflops, which means "billions of floating point operations per second", a measure of how fast your GPU or CPU can do math. More is better. As an aside, "Floating point" is a programming term for a number with decimal points in it, and are the numbers that GPUs do most of their work with.
RAM Size
How much memory your GPU has. Measured (in 2026) in gigabytes, or billions of bytes. More RAM means more space to store textures and 3d models. More is better.
Memory Bandwidth
How quickly your GPU can move data (textures and geometry) between the main chip (where work is done) and the memory (where data is stored). Measured in gigabytes per second. More is better.
Transistor Count
Transistors are the smallest fundamental parts of computer chips (including GPUs). Broadly speaking, more transistors means more performance, but transistor count should not be used itself as a measurement of performance. GFLOPS, RAM, and RAM speed are the actual numbers you should care about.
TDP
"Thermal Design Power," the maximum amount of power a device is expected to give off as heat at maximum power, for example while running a demanding game. A higher number here will generate more heat and consume more electricity. Measured in Watts.
